We had a unique support group meeting on Thursday, May 21st.
Amy Whipple, the Midwest Regional Director of the ALS Therapy Development Institute of Cambridge, Massachusetts gave a great presentation of the ALS/TDI research plan and approach to discovering a treatment for patients living with ALS today.

This group of ladies present at the meeting represents four different organizations. To quote Mary Beth: “Women Fighting ALS!!

May 21st, Walt Van Horn at the Seventh Annual Tuscarawas County Caregiver Expo. This gives us an opportunity to network with other organizations and businesses, and to help raise awareness of ALS.



On May 16th a fundraiser was held for us by the Country Club Retirement Campus in Dover. They held a Murder Mystery Dinner in the dining room of their beautiful facility

THE ALS/RELAY FUNDRAISER

Over 150 people came to participate in the fun.

Phyllis Van Horn, Director of the ALS Family Support Group of Ohio, Inc. and Roxie Long Captain of the Little Theatre Relay for Life Team are first cousins who have a family history of ALS and cancer. They partnered to raise money to benefit both organizations.

Murder Mystery Cast: Many people came for the Get a Clue Murder Mystery. The Detective did it.

The Metzcar family donated the hot dog and popcorn machine.

Wendell Wendling, Auctioneer livened up the evening with his auctioneer speak.

Nadia our winning ticket drawer was assisted by Judy Higgins.
